The Maison welcomes spring with an enchanting expansion of the Lucky Spring line, capturing the fleeting beauty of nature&rsquo;s most graceful messengers.<o:p></o:p>

The Lucky Spring collection, debuting in 2021, symbolises&nbsp;Van Cleef &amp; Arpels&rsquo; positive vision of life, channelling it&nbsp;through the evocation of the awakening of flora and fauna.&nbsp;The Maison&rsquo;s nod to spring this year encompasses five new&nbsp;jewellery creations in yellow gold: a long necklace, a five-motif bracelet, a clip, a Between the Finger ring, and a pair of&nbsp;earrings, accompanied by a new Poetic Complications watch.

Floating into the collection&rsquo;s design refresh is a new butterfly&nbsp;motif, crafted in yellow gold with ornamental stones. It&nbsp;joins the existing Lucky Spring family members, consisting&nbsp;of the ladybug, plum blossoms, lily-of-the-valley buds and&nbsp;delicate foliage. Ingrained in the Maison&rsquo;s heritage since&nbsp;1960, the butterfly has lent its grace and lightness to multiple&nbsp;interpretations, from precious cases to rings, necklaces, clips&nbsp;and watch dials.
Expressing the vitality of nature, this latest butterfly rendition&nbsp;reiterates Van Cleef &amp; Arpels&rsquo; predilection for ornamental&nbsp;stones, epitomised by blue agate and lapis lazuli this time&nbsp;around, with a contour of the Maison&rsquo;s trademark golden&nbsp;beads. These materials, including green agate for the foliage&nbsp;symbols, are carefully selected and depict the most uniform&nbsp;and homogenous blue and green hues, ranging from light to&nbsp;intense. Emanating an even, brilliant shade, these gems are&nbsp;harmoniously paired with lustrous and subtly reflecting white mother-of-pearl, an organic material.

Represented alternately in profile and frontally, the butterfly&nbsp;appears three times on the long necklace, woven together&nbsp;with vivacity and asymmetry. It is made using the ancestral&nbsp;technique of lost-wax casting, after which it is reworked and&nbsp;polished by hand by the jeweller. The yellow gold bracelet&nbsp;strings five delicate motifs: a butterfly, a plum blossom, a pair&nbsp;of lily-of-the-valley buds and a verdant leaf, crafted with lapis&nbsp;lazuli, blue and green agate, and white mother-of-pearl.
Nestling beautifully on the hand, the emblematic Between the Finger ring is adorned with a butterfly &mdash; open-winged, tilted outwards and appearing to take flight &mdash; flitting playfully with a plum blossom and a lily-of-the-valley bud in white mother-of-pearl. These three motifs are set on different&nbsp;levels, infusing the ring with volume and movement. Also&nbsp;featuring this composition, the clip is enhanced with foliage&nbsp;in green agate, adding vibrancy to the colour palette. Pretty&nbsp;and petite, the earrings are decked with two plum blossoms&nbsp;in iridescent white mother-of-pearl and a polished gold pistil&nbsp;within each motif.

Joining these new expressions is Lady Lucky Spring Butterfly,&nbsp;a stunning Poetic Complications watch which imbues&nbsp;the passing of time afresh with wonder and enchantment.&nbsp;Intersecting the savoir-faire of Van Cleef &amp; Arpels in both&nbsp;watchmaking and jewellery, this precious creation showcases&nbsp;three plum blossoms in white mother-of-pearl, positioned on&nbsp;uneven levels, adding volume and relief to the scenography.
Yellow gold beading surrounds each flower, polished on the&nbsp;branches and textured on the leaves. The aperture, edged with&nbsp;a beaded contour, embodies the shape of a lily-of-the-valley&nbsp;bud that reveals a disk in white mother-of-pearl, displaying the&nbsp;time. A study of contrast, the bouquet and the guilloch&eacute; white&nbsp;mother-of-pearl dial, painted in a deep blue hue, immaculately&nbsp;sets off the interplay of lines and circulation of light reflections.

A self-winding mechanical movement, featuring a retrograde&nbsp;minutes display and jumping hours, powers the watch,&nbsp;bringing to life the bucolic scene within a 33-mm case. A pair&nbsp;of enamel-adorned butterflies, one open-winged and the other&nbsp;closed-winged, engage in a journey where the former advances&nbsp;gradually towards the latter with the elapsing minutes, before&nbsp;returning to its original position at each new hour. The&nbsp;exactitude of every detail &mdash; weight, size, material &mdash; including&nbsp;the diamonds, selected according to the Maison&rsquo;s tradition of&nbsp;excellence, which illuminate the bezel, hour-markers, centre&nbsp;attachments, crown and buckle of the strap, perfectly portray&nbsp;the story on the dial.
Just as outstanding, the case back is engraved with foliage&nbsp;on the gold part, while the sapphire glass is adorned with&nbsp;floral motifs in enamel decal, peeking into the oscillating&nbsp;weight with a glowing guilloch&eacute; effect and a butterfly in&nbsp;miniature painting. Mechanical expertise meets m&eacute;tiers d&rsquo;art&nbsp;in the Lady Lucky Spring Butterfly, whose entire assembly&nbsp;was completed in the Van Cleef &amp; Arpels Watchmaking&nbsp;Workshops in Geneva.
