Social change leader, mother, holder of 23 Grand Slam singles titles and overall record-breaking tennis legend Serena Williams (@serenawilliams) takes on a new role this season as the newly-appointed global ambassador of Stuart Weitzman.
Having just made her campaign debut for Stuart Weitzman this May 2020, Serena exemplifies the essence of the shoe label's new aesthetic where women are highlighted as pillars of hope and optimism for their communities.
And who better than the one and only Serena Williams to stand tall for Stuart Weitzman as a woman whose resilience and courage has helped her overcome obstacles throughout her career and life.
Serena says, "Now, more than ever, is a moment to focus on hope and moving forward. I want women of every generation to be inspired to do so, one step at a time.”
Shot on a single platform by photographer Ethan James Green with the best soles by Stuart Weitzman, Serena emanates the energy that reinforces the notion that women possess the innate strength to be symbols of hope for their communities — a message that is especially relevant right now.
At the same time, the 2020 Campaign is part of Stuart Weitzman’s ongoing philanthropic partnership with Vital Voices Global Partnership, an international nonprofit dedicated to investing in women leaders who drive global change.
Together with Serena Williams, Stuart Weitzman has selected two women leaders — and their organizations focused on lifting up women of colour — who have stepped up to support vulnerable communities in the midst of COVID-19. These leaders are Sage Ke’alohilani Quiamno, co-founder of Future For Us — a platform dedicated to advancing women of colour at work — and Ashlee Wisdom, founder of Health In Her HUE, a platform that connects Black women to the healthcare providers, services and resources that are committed to their health and well-being.
Among the Stuart Weitzman shoes highlighted, we see beautiful white variations of the square-toe ALEENA slide, the sculptural ANNY pump; and the coveted MANILA lug-sole loafer, which is now reintroduced with a monochromatic sole and updated hardware.
