Louis Vuitton has confirmed the renewal of Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re's contract as artistic director of the Maison's Women's Collections.

 Louis Vuitton has just announced the renewal of Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re's contract as artistic director of the womenswear collections after serving a decade in the role. Throughout his time at Louis Vuitton, the creative director managed to interpret and express the history of the Maison with wisdom and creativity through collections that have become iconic within the fashion world and have redefined the identity of the womenswear collections within the Maison.&nbsp;
 "It is a true honor to continue writing the story of Louis Vuitton. We began the first chapter ten years ago, defining a new identity based on extraordinary heritage and a constant focus on innovation. In particular, I have had the privilege to harness the talent and expertise of the Maison and its teams to develop new codes. I am forever grateful for the trust and support of Bernard Arnault and Pietro Beccari on this incredible journey,&rdquo; Ghesqui&egrave;re said in a statement.

Ghesqui&egrave;re started his career early, at the age of 14, as an intern at the fashion house Agn&egrave;s B. After studying fashion design in high school, he was noticed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, who hired him as an assistant in 1990. In 1995, he became the creative director of the fashion house Balenciaga, a role which he stayed in until 2013. From there, he left to take the creative reins at Louis Vuitton as the creative director of the womenswear collection.
