The brand&rsquo;s Perfume Creation Director and Global Ambassador let us in on what makes the new launches so irresistible.

Unless you&rsquo;ve been living under a rock, you would have caught wind of Dior Beauty&rsquo;s most talked-about launch: the new Dior Addict Lip Glow Oils and Dior Addict Fragrances, conceived collaboratively by Makeup Creative &amp; Image Director Peter Philips and Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian.
During our trip to Tokyo for the Sweet Shop pop-up, we sat down with Kurkdjian, who shared the inspiration and mood behind the three gourmand scents &mdash; Rosy Glow, Peachy Glow and Purple Glow. Global Brand Ambassador Jisoo also revealed her latest lip obsession and offered a glimpse into what 2026 has in store for her.

How did you approach translating the philosophy of the lip oils into fragrance?
For me, &ldquo;easy to wear&rdquo; &mdash; especially for a young generation &mdash; translated into the fruity side of each flower. We played with colours: pale pink, pale orange, purple. Once we decided on the colour, we chose the flower. The idea was to bring high perfumery and quality in a very playful way. It&rsquo;s not about being younger in age, but younger in your head &mdash; about the relationship you have with your makeup, and the same relationship you have with perfume.
What mood or emotion did you want to evoke with these scents?
Mood in perfume is extremely cultural. What I can say is that we wanted to bring high perfumery into a playful context. The idea was boldness, but not heavy boldness. More like an aura. In French we say sillage &mdash; the trail a perfume leaves behind. The perfume must be smelled. It must have presence. But presence doesn&rsquo;t mean aggressiveness. It means character.
How has the way women wear fragrance changed today?
Social media changed everything. It&rsquo;s about &ldquo;me, myself and I.&rdquo; There is now a dialogue between the wearer and the brand. Before, the brand spoke. Now the client expresses feelings and emotions. Everything is globally available almost instantly, so there is a stronger need for individuality. Perfume is one of the last territories where you can express that.
Why are sweet scents so popular?
When you are a child, fruitiness and sweetness are linked to care &mdash; your parents choosing products for you, protecting you. Sweetness becomes associated with comfort and safety. As teenagers, sweetness becomes playful. Then it becomes addictive. Over time, fruitiness becomes something joyful in your olfactory memory. I think sweetness will stay for a long time. What will change is the texture. Here, the sweetness is brighter, fluffier &mdash; not sticky, not heavy. I wanted to avoid a fatty, dense sweetness. It is long-lasting, but airy.
Is it more difficult to create a sweet perfume?
Technically, sweet perfumes are often easier. Vanilla, for example, covers many imperfections. Sweet notes are long-lasting and diffuse well. Floral or citrus perfumes are much more fragile. Citrus is volatile; florals require extreme precision. You must balance proportions carefully. Sweetness can mask flaws. So the challenge is not technical &mdash; it&rsquo;s about bringing a new texture. Something like whipped cream: light yet present. That was the real challenge.
If Rosy Glow, Peach Glow and Purple Glow were desserts, what would they be?
Rosy Glow would be a Charlotte with rose, lychee, strawberry and raspberry &mdash; one of my favourite desserts since I was a teenager, with whipped cream. Purple Glow would be more like a raspberry sorbet with cream. Peach Glow would be a summer peach salad with verbena.

What do you love most about the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil?&nbsp;
The design feels even sleeker this time. The Dior Oblique motif is so beautiful that I wanted to keep it like a little collectable. And, just like anything in the Addict line, once you start using it, it becomes hard to live without. I especially love that it is a makeup product that also provides lip care.&nbsp;
Which of the new Lip Oil shades and finishes will you always keep in your bag?&nbsp;
I love 077 Rosy Candy &mdash; it&rsquo;s the one I carry with me everywhere because I love that bright pop-pink shade. I also adore 001 Pink and use it often because it is a clear pink that suits anyone and works with any style or moment.&nbsp;
How do the notes in the fragrance resonate with you, and how does it make you feel when you wear it?&nbsp;
I love the combination of rose and lychee. The rose feels elegant and refined, while lychee brings a bright, youthful energy. Together, they create a scent that&rsquo;s soft yet striking. That&rsquo;s why Rosy Glow feels a little different each time I wear it &mdash; it changes with my mood and the moment.&nbsp;
What are some of your go-to beauty tips or tricks you&rsquo;ve learned along the way?&nbsp;
In Korea, people often say removing makeup is more important than applying it, and I truly agree. Thoughtful cleansing keeps my skin balanced despite frequent makeup and a busy schedule. I always use Dior La Mousse Off/On &mdash; the rich, soft foam feels like a gentle massage and leaves my skin calm and refreshed. After cleansing, I finish with Dior Prestige, especially the La Micro-Huile de Rose Activated Serum.&nbsp;
What projects are you working on in 2026, and which ones are you most excited about? 
&lsquo;Monthly Boyfriend&rsquo;, which I finished filming this year, and my new solo album will be released in 2026. I&rsquo;m excited for both because I will be able to show my new sides to a wider audience.
Where do you draw inspiration from when working on new music? 
Sometimes it starts with a single line from a casual conversation. Other times, when I finally get a quiet moment alone, ideas and stories naturally float into my mind.
How do you like to spend your downtime when you&rsquo;re not working? 
I love staying home, but I also try to keep up with workouts, self-care, and taking walks. Following that simple routine helps my days flow smoothly.
