Lark Distillery was founded in 1992 by Bill Lark and his wife, Lyn, in Tasmania. It began with a simple curiosity and a question: &ldquo;Why isn&rsquo;t anyone making malt whisky in Tasmania?&rdquo; That question led them to explore the process of obtaining a distillation licence, refreshing Australia&rsquo;s antiquated distillation laws and ultimately playing a role in their reform.
And they did just that. The Lark household became the first Australian distillery to produce a single malt spirit in 154 years. Over time, the spirit matured into a richly layered Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky, aged in small casks. In 1998, after years of patience and perseverance, the first Lark Distillery Single Malt Whisky was released commercially

In doing so, they ignited modern Tasmanian whisky and helped lead Australia&rsquo;s whisky movement. Today, Master Distiller Chris Thomson, prot&eacute;g&eacute; of Bill and Lyn, continues this legacy &mdash; honouring tradition while pushing boundaries through the creative freedom of New World whisky. Guided by flavour, not rules, his team experiments with casks, rare finishes and locally sourced ingredients to craft distinctive, experience-driven whiskies.

Today, LARK introduces a new luxury portfolio of four expressions &mdash; Fire Trail, Devil&rsquo;s Storm, Ruby Abyss and Cinder Forest &ndash; each amplifying the fortified depth, flavour intensity and silky complexity for which the brand is renowned. Crafted in Tasmania&rsquo;s extraordinary climate at the edge of the world, these single malts are introduced with a new visual identity, each one embodying the wild beauty and creative freedom of the island.

Within the four expressions, Fire Trail stands as the purest reflection of the LARK house style &mdash; bold, vibrant and true to the essence of the spirit. Devil&rsquo;s Storm reveals the fearless heart of the brand, defined by rare cask mastery and a powerful convergence of depth, texture and Tasmanian intensity. Ruby Abyss is a deeply layered single malt, aged exclusively in 100% first-fill vintage Port and Sherry casks. Cinder Forest completes the collection with lingering richness and an American Oak finish, an exclusive expression available only through Global Travel Retail at key international airports.
