Manila Fashion Week made its return this September at the SMX Convention Center Aura in BGC, Taguig.

MNL Fashion Week stands as one of the Philippines’ leading fashion platforms, championing a bold new vision for the country’s fashion landscape. As its influence and cultural significance continue to grow, the event has evolved into a larger and more inclusive celebration of Filipino style, creativity, and identity.<o:p></o:p>
Following the success of its inaugural edition, MNL Fashion Week returned this year for its second edition, bringing together an exciting lineup of designers, creatives, and fashion voices across a four-day celebration. The event continued to spotlight local talent, amplify Filipino narratives, and position the Philippines as an increasingly influential force within the Southeast Asian fashion scene and beyond.<o:p></o:p>

First Day<o:p></o:p>
Opening the runway was nicolò with “Flow State,” an exploration of the creative process told across three distinct chapters. Drawing from the designer’s own experiences with ambition, discipline, and the pursuit of creativity, the collection offered a deeply personal perspective on the rhythm of work. It also represented a significant expansion for the label, introducing womenswear into its predominantly menswear universe while retaining the attitude and perspective of menswear at its core.<o:p></o:p>
Yong Studio followed with a statement-making collection that placed environmental consciousness at the centre of the runway. Its colour story moved deliberately from vivid, nature-inspired shades to increasingly restrained tones, creating a sense of gradual disappearance as the presentation progressed. The collection brought together ready-to-wear, menswear, and one-off pieces, with deadstock fabrics providing much of its visual and tactile character. Varied textures and unexpected contrasts kept the looks dynamic, while the emphasis on versatility made the sustainability message feel relevant beyond the runway.<o:p></o:p>

Second Day<o:p></o:p>
The second night began in a space where beginnings and endings meet. Randolf’s “The Waiting Room” drew from a four-day period last January, when the designer’s family experienced the arrival of one life alongside the loss of another. Set within a hospital room, the presentation explored the fragile space between reality and the imagined, life and death, memory and hope. It was a study of transition, not a purgatory, but a place of emotional suspension. The clothing carried the same emotional weight. Each look was designed to command attention on its own, with expressive patterns, tactile textures, and distinctive silhouettes creating a sense of individuality throughout the collection.<o:p></o:p>
Closing the evening was knitwear designer Jerome Lorico, who made his return to the runway after several years away from the schedule. Describing the collection as a return to something natural and primal, Lorico approached knitwear through instinct rather than convention. Sculptural silhouettes and fluid constructions allowed the garments to move almost like water, becoming extensions of the designer’s inner emotions and impulses.<o:p></o:p>

Third Day<o:p></o:p>
Charlotte Folk transformed the runway into Hotel de Charlotte Folk on the third day, checking in with a collection that blurred the lines between streetwear and elevated city dressing. Leather outerwear, New York-coded moto jackets, full-zip silhouettes, and oversized trenches formed the foundation of a wardrobe made for the urban muse. The presentation extended beyond fashion, with Filipino artists Flow G and Skusta Clee delivering a live performance that sent the room’s energy into overdrive.<o:p></o:p>
Then came a softer change of pace. Titled “NOT HERE,” ANTONINA’s latest collection was described by its designer as a personal letter to herself – a reminder to take a step back and rest. The runway reflected that sentiment through a restrained palette of pink, sage, blue, white, and soft grey. Flowers, lace, and delicate textures replaced the sharper visual codes of earlier collections, creating an altogether more romantic and introspective chapter.<o:p></o:p>

Fourth Day<o:p></o:p>
On the final day of MNL Fashion Week, the organisers combined the two show halls to create a larger, more expansive runway. HA.MÜ opened the evening with a three-act presentation that travelled from an eccentric and experimental beginning to a reflection on commitment before culminating in a bridal finale. Playful proportions, unexpected details, and imaginative styling filled the runway, turning the collection into a celebration of dressing without rules and of the sheer joy of getting dressed.<o:p></o:p>
Proudrace brought the event to a close with its distinctive interpretation of streetwear, drawing inspiration from the humour, energy, and everyday realities of Filipino culture. Deconstructed garments, reworked textiles, and repurposed materials came together in unconventional silhouettes designed with movement in mind. Rooted firmly in the streets, the collection offered Proudrace’s perspective on Filipino identity through the clothes people live in, move through, and make their own.<o:p></o:p>
