In 1947, Christian Dior debuted his couture collection, better known as the &ldquo;New Look&rdquo; which redefined the post-war sartorial norms of the time. Audacious and timeless, the New Look set the stage for Dior&rsquo;s legacy. Its structured yet fluid silhouette became emblematic of Dior&rsquo;s savoir-faire, inspiring not just the House&rsquo;s womenswear and menswear but also its olfactory creations. Fast forward to seven decades later, when master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian joined Dior as Perfume Creation Director, he revisited the New Look&rdquo; and envisioned a scent that encapsulates the synergy between couture and fragrance with perfect nuances.

To bring this scent to life, Kurkdjian blended raw materials that evoke fresh, effusive, supple, and sensual facets. &ldquo;I created a composition that honours the beauty of an amber fragrance reinvented through original and audacious fresh notes.&rdquo; Kurkdjian shared the creative process behind the New Look, likening it to the meticulous artistry of couture design. &ldquo;A classic cut and bold choice of raw materials are reorchestrated, and seemingly deconstructed here, to express a new type of sensuality.&rdquo;
Living up to its name, La Collection Priv&eacute;e New Look defies what is expected of an amber scent. It opens with sunny Aldehydes, whilst at its heart, frankincense adds warmth to its radiance with a hint of mystery. As it dries down, the amber at the base brings out the nuanced structure, leaving an enveloping trail that is both fresh and sensual.

On how you resonate with New Look&hellip;
Loui Lim: New Look has deep rich notes of amber and frankincense that I associate with strength and sensuality. I&rsquo;m drawn to its outgoing and energetic nature. It&rsquo;s like a shot of boldness and confidence to my style, making me feel like I can just go and conquer the day. It&rsquo;s so important to find that right scent that brings out your inner radical.
Alicia Amin: I&rsquo;m into scents that are fresh and sunny but nothing too intense. I wouldn&rsquo;t describe New Look as muted, though, but it&rsquo;s more of a delicate blend with a woody edge. It reveals layers of character like a mix of my personalities and I love that about it.
Kim Raymond: Just a glance at the bottle of New Look fills me with positivity, like it&rsquo;s a fresh start in a bottle. Makes me feel all hopeful and keeps my head held high no matter what the day throws at me.
Uriah See: People always see me as confident, much like the audacious presence of New Look. But interesting enough, I&rsquo;m pretty introverted most of the time. New Look&rsquo;s blend of boldness and sensuality mirrors my own complexity because, like the scent, there&rsquo;s more to me than meets the eye. Loui Lim: To keep pushing boundaries is to constantly keep growing, and so I&rsquo;m eager to pursue more projects, both personal and professionally, abroad. With the start of the new year, I feel renewed to follow my dreams with confidence. And speaking of it, one on my list is to launch my own luxury boutique hotel that fully embodies my personal style and attitude.
Alicia Amin: Personally, I would really like to learn how to dance. In fact, I&rsquo;ve started taking classes, learning the basics. I struggle with coordination and I hope to improve as I go along. Career wise, I&rsquo;m planning to do more films, and hopefully more into action. It&rsquo;s kinda cool how my dance journey fits right in with that goal.
Kim Raymond: I&rsquo;m seeking a new state of mind. I want to be calmer and have more patience in everything I do.
Uriah See: This year, as a singer, I&rsquo;m on the journey to reinvent my music and I hope I can incorporate new elements and styles to it. Personally, I want to break out of my comfort zone and dive into challenges that push me to evolve.
