Located seven hours away by flight, Sydney might not be the first place that comes to mind when you&rsquo;d like a quick getaway, but it&rsquo;s a destination to consider if you&rsquo;re into great food, lively culture and iconic landmarks. With a mild, pleasant climate all year round, Australia's oldest and biggest city is perfect for short or long trips any time of the year. All you need to do is decide on a date, pack your bags and you&rsquo;re good to go.
Want to know where to get the best view of the Emerald City? Just do the Harbour Bridge Climb and you&rsquo;ll find out. We climbed 1,332 steps on the upper arch of the iconic landmark for a spectacular 360-degree view of Sydney and soaked in the stories of the city from our Climb Leader. It was a special experience. If you&rsquo;d like to enjoy the harbour view at night, O Bar and Dining is a revolving contemporary fine dining restaurant where you can enjoy great food with a magnificent panoramic view.

We were also hosted by Cultural Attractions of Australia at the Art Gallery of New South Wales&rsquo; new building. There, we visited the Yiribana Gallery housed in the new North Building, where Erin Vink, curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art and International Indigenous Art, gave us an informative walk-through of the extensive indigenous art. Our tour ended with a delicious lunch at MOD. Dining by Clayton Wells, located in the tranquil building. A restaurant by one of Australia&rsquo;s most acclaimed chefs, the place offers a light-filled, relaxed dining experience where we sampled culturally diverse dishes &mdash; from a delectable Meredith goat cheese and green vegetable tart to comforting XO spanner crab noodles &mdash; that are made using Australia&rsquo;s best produce.&nbsp;

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Sydney Opera House, and the guided tour should be on your to-do list. We were taken to different parts of the architectural masterpiece to learn its storied history and had the opportunity to discover its magic up close. If you&rsquo;d like to enjoy a meal before or after the tour, look no further than Midden by Mark Olive, an indigenous Australian restaurant that&rsquo;s situated in the complex. There, you can sample a produce-focused menu of native Australian ingredients, from wattle seed and bush honey to saltbush and succulents. Some of our favourites were the damper, a homemade wheat bread served with whipped butter that&rsquo;s infused with native herbs and eucalyptus, the lemon myrtle tandoori crocodile and the braised wallaby shank.&nbsp;
