Just in perfect timing as the EU reopens its borders, Cartier’s exclusive series of events to celebrate the spectacular Sixième Sens par Cartier injected the ultimate sparkle of renewal after many months of hopeful waiting for the world to finally resume with a new sense of normalcy.
The Maison’s new High Jewelry collection was unveiled at the intimate hotel of Il Sereno Lago di Como — newly renovated in a contemporary style by Patricia Urquiola — on the iconic shores of Italy’s Lake Como. Amidst the sublime setting, the highly anticipated presentation was imbued with a stirring spirit of rebirth, thanks in part to the captivating resort region’s legendary past and inspiring natural beauty.
President & CEO of Cartier International Cyrille Vigneron hosted the celebrations that included a gala dinner at the stunning Villa Làrio. A glamorous coterie of attendees counted Cartier Ambassadors and Friends of the Maison such as Mariacarla Boscono, Golshifteh Farahani, Bianca Brandolini, Yasmine Sabri, Deena Abdulaziz, Nadine Labaki, Fatima Al Banawi, Hannah Herzsprung and Sibel Kekilli.
Mirroring the soulfulness and emotional power of High Jewelry, the Sixième Sens par Cartier collection exemplifies an art form that elicits surprise and wonder through the fascinating depths of thousand-year-old stones. Its spellbinding combination of stylised feline interpretation, organic textures and shards of coloured light is heightened by the splendid shimmer and magnificent hues of gems as they electrify and evoke heavenly lands afar.
To illustrate the collection’s bejewelled compositions, the elements of trompe-l’œil, graphic patterns and optical illusions are also artfully crafted in to challenge one’s perceptions before the unique pieces come alive next to the skin. Transporting beholders to a world of sensory stimulation, the jewels magically awaken all the senses, including the sixth sense, with the most vivid emotions in moving one’s heart.
