To close L’OFFICIEL’s In Her Own Way series with Bvlgari, we meet Michiyo Ho, whose journey has been defined by curiosity and constant evolution. From music and social media to fashion, lifestyle and sport, she has built a world of her own by refusing to let any one label define her.
Her story speaks naturally to the spirit of "Eternally Iconic". Just as Bvlgari continues to reinterpret its unmistakable identity for new generations, Michiyo believes in evolving without losing sight of what makes her distinctly herself.
For the final chapter, Michiyo reflects on growing alongside her audience, finding inspiration in everyday life and what it takes to create something that resonates beyond the moment.

You have carved out a very different space for yourself within this industry. Was there one choice or leap of faith that changed the direction of your career? 
For me, the biggest change has been learning not to limit myself to just one type of person or one kind of work.
At the beginning, people might have known me for a certain type of content, but over time, I started exploring more things — fashion, lifestyle, sports, and even things I never imagined myself doing before. I used to always ask myself, “Is this really for me? Will people think it’s strange?” Now, I’m much more willing to just give things a try. Most of the time, I find the answers along the way.
Your work influences people in different ways. What does it mean to you to have that kind of impact?
I wouldn’t really define myself as someone who “influences others,” because most of what I share is simply the life I’m experiencing and the things I genuinely enjoy.
But occasionally, someone will tell me that seeing what I share inspired her to start exercising, learn something new, or be more courageous in doing the things she wants to do. That always means a lot to me. For me, it might have just been a very natural thing to share, but for her, perhaps it happened to give her a little bit of courage.

When did you first realise that what you were building could become something bigger?
I think it was when I realised that people weren’t just “watching my content” — they were actually growing alongside me.
Some people have been following me since they were students, and later they’d tell me, “I used to watch you when I was still in school, and now I’m working and married.” Hearing things like that made me realise just how long this journey has been a part of people’s lives.
That was when I understood that what I do might be more than just a job, or a series of pieces of content. I’m slowly building a world of my own, and people are leaving their own stories within it too.&nbsp;When content starts to accompany someone through different chapters of their life, it becomes more than just content.
Trends are always changing. How do you stay current while still staying true to yourself?
I keep an eye on trends, and I enjoy trying new things, but just because something is popular doesn’t mean I have to become that version of myself.
I prefer to bring new elements into my own life and then ask myself, “If it were Michiyo, how would I express this?” That way, I can explore new things without losing my own direction.

When you create something, do you think about the impact it might have on others?
Yes, but I don’t start out thinking, “I want to influence people.”&nbsp;If I’m too intentional about trying to communicate a certain message from the beginning, I feel like the expression can sometimes become less natural. So I’d rather start by honestly sharing my feelings, my life, and my thoughts.
If someone finds joy, inspiration, or even a little bit of courage in what I share, then of course, that’s a wonderful thing. But I think that kind of connection should happen naturally, rather than being something that’s deliberately planned.
Bvlgari is known for pieces that are distinctive enough to be recognised yet designed to transcend generations. What do you hope people will remember about your work years from now?
I really admire Bvlgari’s spirit of respecting tradition while constantly pushing boundaries. Its creations have such a strong sense of identity, yet they’re never confined to a particular era or a single style. Even after many years, they still feel full of life and energy.
That’s something I hope to achieve for myself as well: to hold on to what makes me who I am, while continuing to explore new ways of expressing myself.
So years from now, I hope that when people think of me, they won’t just remember a particular photograph, a certain look, or a specific chapter of my life. I hope they remember a feeling. Maybe it’s the feeling that I was always willing to try new things, that I genuinely enjoyed life, and that I kept doing the things I loved.
