It might be classified as men's watches, but we don't see a reason why the ladies can pull them off.

A fashion label who have had a hand in creating fashion watches (under the former D&G label) in the past decade, Dolce & Gabbana is making its debut into the world of haute horlogerie this year with four horological marvels.

Titled "Alta Orologeria", this series of fine timepieces are inspired by the operas of famous Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and features solid gold bodies for all of the designs.

Opulent, extravagant and crafted to the finest details, the Alta Orologeria collection comes with exceptional complications that have taken two years to create including a self-winding mechanical tourbillon, a tourbillon with chronograph and, the star of the collection, a tourbillon with minute repeater.

A painstaking selection of gemstones, and skillfully made friezes, bas-reliefs and embellishments are applied to each watch.

The Otello watch comes mechanical movement with manual winding and features a winged lion and torch.

The gold body of each watch are all crafted in solid gold for the maximum opulent effect – perfect for the luxury connoisseurs.

The Don Carlo watch highlights masterful openwork that reveals the heart of the watch, making the piece a decadent time treasure chest.

It also houses a tourbillon with minute repeater.

For all the designs, except Otello, the D&G initials is carefully engraved on the unique bridge of the watches.

The Nabucco watch's design is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and features enamel markers that are made by hand with a complex rounded effect.

And each of the Alta Orologeria watches comes with a restored antique box.

For the Macbeth model, the watch highlights an entirely handmade and fully engraved dial that has chronometric second and minute counters beside the power reserve indicator.

The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Orologeria watches are priced between €115,000 to €690,000. For more information, visit www.dolcegabbana.com.
