10 artists were invited to transform the Lady Dior handbag into a canvas.

Art and Dior have an inseparable relationship. One of the most famous projects, Dior Lady Art, invites artists from around the world to transform the Lady Dior handbag, a symbol of elegance and power, into a canvas for their creative works. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the project, and the brand has invited 10 artists from around the world to collaborate, including Jessica Cannon, Patrick Eugene, Eva Jospin, Ju Ting, Lakwena, Lee Ufan, Sophia Loeb, Ines Longevial, Marc Quinn, and Alymamah Rashed. With their unique cultures, languages, and expertise, each Lady Dior handbag tells a unique story, touching the heart through aesthetics.

Jessica Cannon
Contemporary American artist Jessica Cann is known for her ability to depict the dreamlike atmosphere created by the refraction of light using soft pastel tones, imbuing each piece with a meditative quality. In this project, she uses the sun and moon as extensions, recording the life cycle with three Lady Dior handbags. Adorned with round seashells or shimmering mother-of-pearl, the colours subtly shift with the rhythm of light and shadow throughout the day, revealing the layers of meaning contained within the patterns.

Patrick Eugène Born in New York to Haitian parents, artist Patrick Eugène weaves the deep connections between Caribbean and North American African cultures into his intuitive art. In this collaboration, he pays homage to Haiti using pearls, symbols of strength and resilience, combining them with various materials such as leather, raffia, and bamboo to showcase diverse weaving and embroidery techniques, paying tribute to rich and diverse craftsmanship through unique details. Notably, the design features oversized pearl charms, adding a bold and alluring touch to the handbag.

Eva Jospin
In the Dior Lady Art project, the handbag is not merely a canvas. In the eyes of French visual artist Eva Jospin, the Lady Dior handbag becomes a fantastical world of imagination. Inspired by her signature Balcons series, she uses embroidery to depict magnificent botanical landscapes, combined with gold jewellery inspired by the balcony of Dior's headquarters at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, making the handbag a medium for connecting with nature, imagination, and the brand's history.

Ju Ting
Chinese artist Ju Ting has garnered attention for her skilful blurring of the boundaries between traditional painting and sculpture, greatly expanding the possibilities of surface and texture. In this project, Ju Ting combines the refined elegance of Dior with her personal creative techniques, including high-frequency striped patterns embellished with beaded embroidery, drawing inspiration from the principles of kinetic art to create a dynamic illusion with wavy panels, and giving the handles and "dior" letter charms a playful design, showcasing different facets of the brand.

Lakwena
A quick glance at social media reveals that London-based artist Lakwena is known for her vibrant colours interwoven with declarative text, creating works that are both joyful and subversive. She presents three highly personal Lady Dior handbags, all constructed from multiple layers of leather and silver or gold metallic finishes. The bags are embossed with phrases such as "Love Me," "Hold Me," and "Carry Me," all inspired by the core essence of handbags: "holding, holding, and enveloping."

Li Yuhuan As a theorist and spokesperson for the international avant-garde art movement &quot;Mono-ha,&quot; Lee Ufan focuses on exploring the interdependence between natural and industrial materials and their relationship with space. He created three poetic works for Dior Lady Art, echoing his minimalist aesthetic of using only one stroke. On the front of the artificial fur, miniature tassels, and embroidery sewn onto the leather, a bright, flat color block is added, presenting a highly dynamic design.

Sophia Loeb Sophia Loeb draws inspiration from imagining herself immersed in nature, leading viewers into pristine memories yet untouched by humankind. In her collaboration with Dior Lady Art, she created four handbags, showcasing her unique aesthetic style. These include an impressionistic garden adorned with pearls, silk threads, and metal wire; a design that mixes various materials and techniques, continuing a floral Odyssey; a piece inspired by ancient embossed leather craftsmanship, rendered in gold leather for ultimate elegance; and a monochromatic red dress echoing the opulent gown of Trafalgar (designed by Christian Dior). Notably, the handbag&#39;s lining conceals a poetic painting.

In&egrave;s Longevial
French painter In&egrave;s Longevial's core concept is "To Make The Face Speak." For many years, her paintings have transformed figures into landscapes sculpted by the interplay of light and shadow, guiding viewers to explore new worlds. In this project, Longevial showcases her kaleidoscopic colours and rich emotions on three Lady Dior handbags. These include a bag featuring a blue female face (one of her signature works) on the front, a handbag constructed from a patchwork of various fabrics showcasing 20 of her representative works, and a third mini version that reinterprets this design through full embroidery.

Marc Quinn
The legendary artist Marc Quinn, who first emerged in the early 1990s, has explored sculpture, painting, and drawing, breaking through the boundaries of traditional art categories and transcending the limitations of media and concepts. 10 years later, Marc Quinn collaborates with Dior again, bringing back five new and unique handbags. These include handbags that transform Mr Dior's fingerprints into independent sculptures and embed them in leather, and handbags that use AI-generated iris patterns and a variety of shapes to break the connection between technology and craftsmanship. They also create a "flower within a flower" visual effect between photography and haute couture, and place orchids in the center of white patent leather, like shimmering silver jewellery, showcasing a balance between tradition and innovation.

Alymamah Rashed
Kuwaiti-born Alymamah Rashed is known for her insightful explorations of identity, climate, and nature through her personal experiences. In this collaboration, she intertwines her artistic vision, worldview, and connection with her environment. Inspired by the rich natural landscapes and heritage of Firaca Island and its beaches, she captures the diversity of the land, transforming the textures of sand, rocks, and barn rattan found along the coast into delicate embroidery patterns.&nbsp;She also pays homage to the hummus, a native Kuwaiti flower, by using 3D printing to create fabric petals on the handbags edged with pearls &mdash; a tribute to life itself.
