The la Galerie du 19M Shanghai showcase merges French M&eacute;tiers d&rsquo;art with China&rsquo;s vibrant creative scene in an immersive celebration of craftsmanship.

This autumn, Chanel with le19M bring an extraordinary celebration of craftsmanship to China in la Galerie du 19M Shanghai, an immersive cultural programme unfolding at the Museum of Art Pudong from 25 September to 15 November 2026. Conceived as a dialogue between French savoir-faire and China&rsquo;s vibrant contemporary creative scene, the exhibition marks a significant new chapter for le19M beyond Paris.<o:p></o:p>
Created by Chanel in 2021, le19M unites 11 exceptional maisons d&rsquo;art and more than 700 artisans whose specialist skills preserve the rare artistry behind fashion and decorative crafts. For its third international edition, la Galerie du 19M will occupy the entire third floor of the museum, transforming the space into a journey through passion, innovation and transmission &ndash; th values that define the M&eacute;tiers d&rsquo;art.<o:p></o:p>

Set against the striking backdrop of Shanghai&rsquo;s historic Bund, visitors will be invited to discover the intricate techniques and tools behind these storied maisons, while exploring the enduring relevance of artisanal excellence in a modern world. The exhibition also features a curated group presentation of works by Chinese and French artists and makers, some of whom have collaborated with le19M&rsquo;s maisons, thus creating a rich exchange between heritage and contemporary expression.<o:p></o:p>
Among the highlights of the programme is a retrospective honouring the centenary of Lesage, the legendary embroidery and weaving house whose exquisite creations have become synonymous with Chanel&rsquo;s haute couture. With artistry harking back from 1924 to today, the exhibition reveals how Lesage&rsquo;s heritage continues to evolve through experimentation and imagination<o:p></o:p>

Beyond the displays, a series of talks, workshops and educational experiences will offer visitors a deeper connection to these remarkable m&eacute;tiers. More than an exhibition, la Galerie du 19M Shanghai is a celebration of craftsmanship as a universal language. And it&rsquo;s one that speaks across cultures, generations and disciplines with timeless elegance.<o:p></o:p>
