However, what’s making noise now, is the new Celine collaboration with a fellow music aficionado, American/Swiss artist Christian Marclay, which resulted in a loud, capsule collection inspired by vintage comic books.
Record executive and critic, Tim Carr described Marclay's work as one that is “the art of unintended sound." Cutting up different types of vinyl and restitching them into completely new records, Marclay’s practice is based on the manipulation of sound.
The Celine x Christian Marclay collection certainly doesn’t whisper. It screams with Marclay’s onomatopoeic collages, and artwork appearing on denim jackets, tee shirts, and bags to name a handful of what has been created. Our favourite is the embellished kimono.
