For Spring 2027, Stuart Vevers looks to Coach’s past without slipping into nostalgia, reworking the house’s signatures through sharp tailoring, timeworn leather and a playful celebration of craft.

How does a fashion house celebrate 85 years without turning the runway into a retrospective? At Coach, Stuart Vevers found the answer by looking at the brand’s history as something to be reworked rather than simply revisited.
“I didn’t want to create a retrospective,” the creative director explained of the Spring 2027 collection. Instead, familiar Coach signatures—including trench coats, leather jackets, tuxedos, bias-cut dresses and western boots—were taken apart, refined and put back together with a fresh perspective.
Tailoring brought structure to the runway through clean shoulders, narrow sleeves and trousers gathered slightly at the ankle. Yet the collection never felt overly formal. Streetwear and countercultural references softened the precision, while exposed linings, raw edges and visible construction gave coats, blazers and trench coats an “inside-out” quality.

Materials appeared deliberately lived-in. Supple nappa leather was paired with faded heavyweight jersey, while fluid dresses and skirts arrived in repurposed linings, georgette, second-hand denim, lamé and sequins. A muted palette of grey, brown, black, white and natural leather gradually gave way to periwinkle, powder pink, mint green and flashes of metallic shine.
The anniversary theme emerged through details that suggested the aftermath of a party. Gold and silver foil was rubbed onto leather, confetti was embedded into bags and shoes, and glitter mixed with red nail polish created cracked, hand-finished surfaces. Birthday crowns, pointed hats, bows, gifts and cards were recreated in leather with the same attention given to the house’s most recognisable designs.
That sense of reinvention continued in the accessories. The new Turnlock Tote draws from a 1970 Coach design and Bonnie Cashin’s iconic hardware, while the Inside-Out Brooklyn exposes the construction of a modern favourite. The Collaged Tabby, assembled from vintage Coach pouches, turns the house’s own archive into something entirely unexpected.
Rather than simply honouring the past, Coach Spring 2027 made it feel alive, imperfect and ready to be worn again.
