<p>In an abandoned subway station on Bowery Street in New York City, Chanel staged its 2026 M&eacute;tiers d'Art show&mdash;a love letter to the art of fashion across ages, eras, and aesthetics. Intertwining playful eccentricity with practical pomp, each and every garment offered a twist that delighted the senses through sound, sight, and touch.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Though the Chanel woman is often thought to be elevated, sophisticated, and unmatched in terms of poise and grace, creative director Matthieu Blazy's very first M&eacute;tiers d'Art collection for the maison offered a glimpse into the vibrant array of personalities that exist at the core of Chanel as an institution of style and culture.&nbsp;</p>
<p>As models wove in between bright red steam beams, leaned on gleaming silver subway cars, and strutted across stone platform tiles, the drama, glamour, and bold spirit at the core of the collection came to life.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Toying with the concept of the urban jungle&mdash;a term first associated with New York City over a hundred years ago, during the beginning of the first great Art Deco era&mdash;variations on animal prints appeared throughout garments, fusing playful, yet sophisticated patterns like zebra, leopard, and crocodile with quintessentially edgy metropolitan grit.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Show-stopping texture appeared in the form of feathered footwear, fur coats and accessories, and fringed detailing, adding a new contemporary dimension to some of Chanel's most iconic silhouettes and design motifs through dynamic motion.&nbsp;</p>
