As someone who&rsquo;s always been hesitant about fillers but wanted a little lift and refinement, I gave GOURI &mdash; a collagen biostimulator, Developed by DEXLEVO, from South Korea &mdash; a try.

One thing I wanted to cross off my bucket list before the year ends was finding a real solution for my tear troughs. Concealers can only do so much, and as tempting as fillers may be, the fact that cases of vascular complications have been popping up more and more lately really held me back. During my visit to Astute Clinic, I shared my hesitation about foreign substances with Dr. Jason Yip. We discussed ingredients, realistic expectations, and potential side effects, and I finally decided to give GOURI a try.
&ldquo;GOURI is a biostimulator made of polycaprolactone (PCL) that has been safely used in reconstructive medicine,&rdquo; Dr Yip explained. &ldquo;When injected into the skin, it forms an extracellular matrix and stimulates collagen production.&rdquo; Essentially, it gives the targeted areas a lifted look by rebuilding the skin&rsquo;s structure, while also improving firmness, texture and radiance. In my case, the goal was to achieve a refreshed, well-rested look, so Dr Yip targeted the undereye for volume and enhanced the side profile with a subtle lift.

The procedure itself was smooth and, surprisingly, painless. Once the numbing cream took effect, Dr Yip carefully mapped out the vectors before using a cannula to deposit the liquid PCL into my skin. All I felt was a tiny prick. Dr Yip explained that the cannula has a blunt tip and flexible design, allowing it to glide beneath the skin with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissue. &ldquo;That means the product is distributed more evenly with less chance of bruising,&rdquo; he assured.
Post-injection, Dr Yip applied a topical vitamin K to aid recovery, followed by moisturiser and sunscreen. There&rsquo;s really no aftercare besides avoiding booze and intense workouts for a day or two. Unlike traditional fillers that give instant volume, GOURI&rsquo;s results develop gradually as collagen builds, and I simply trusted the process while keeping up with my usual skincare routine. Now, almost a month later, I&rsquo;ve noticed I don&rsquo;t need to work as hard to look awake when getting ready. My skin looks less dull and feels more balanced and resilient thanks to the improved texture and radiance.
