The girls don&rsquo;t gatekeep their glow &mdash; many of us are no strangers to Glo House and its founder, Wiwin Zulkifli. With her holistic approach to skincare and gentle yet precise touch, she has cultivated a loyal community in town. Wiwin always starts with a warm, honest conversation to understand her client&rsquo;s skin concerns, everyday routine, and even lifestyle. From there, she tailors each treatment to meet the skin where it is and supports it with time. She believes happy skin is worth the patience. 
After a six-month break that left the girls (rightfully) heartbroken and missing their skin retreats, Glo House&rsquo;s recent return is every bit true to Wiwin. The new space &mdash; cosy, intimate, and pared back &mdash;&nbsp; feels like a reset not just for the beauty studio, but also for Wiwin after taking time away from what she loves, and for anyone walking in to reconnect with their skin.

So happy to see Glo House back in action! How does it feel so far?
It&rsquo;s been a little over a month, and while things are still coming together, my heart is so full seeing how quickly familiar names filled up the calendar the moment bookings went live. I love meeting new faces, but welcoming old friends through a different door this time brings me so much joy. It reassures me that the treatments I offer and the care I put into every session are felt and appreciated.&nbsp; What was it like taking time away from what you love doing? And what made you feel ready to come back?
The time off was something I truly needed. We had just welcomed our second baby, and with our eldest now five, the age gap meant we were constantly being pulled in different directions. That took up so much mental space. So, it was such a relief to slow down and just focus on being a mom without work lingering at the back of my mind.&nbsp;
But as our newborn started settling into a more predictable routine, I thought, &ldquo;I still want to do this.&rdquo; Glo House felt like its story was cut short, and I know it still has so much more to give. With more clarity and lessons learned along the way, I feel ready to do things differently this time around. Stepping away and finding your way back both take courage in different ways &mdash; how did you navigate that journey?
Taking a break from Glo House was inevitable; I simply hadn&rsquo;t planned well enough for what was ahead. [thinks] Honestly, there was nothing brave about it; I was just defeated. But once the chaos of closing, packing and moving was behind me, I felt lighter and finally realised I&rsquo;d been in survival mode for quite some time. My body had been holding on to stress and tension, which felt a bit ironic for someone who&rsquo;s always talking about self-care and wellness. So I spent the time away doing nothing, just soaking up every moment with my eldest while she was still the only child. I let myself slow down and live in the unusual freedom for a while. It turned out to be the best self-care I&rsquo;ve ever given myself.&nbsp;
Looking back, it gave me the clarity I needed to see what went right and where I could&rsquo;ve done better with Glo House. I wanted its return to be smaller and more intentional, so I started solo, testing ideas and getting hands-on before thinking about growing again. It still takes courage to begin again, but I&rsquo;m able to move slowly and steadily this time.&nbsp;

Tell us a bit about the new space and set-up.
Glo House has moved into a beauty co-working space in Mutiara Damansara. The new space is more intimate, with every element pared back and purposeful. Our treatments are fully hands-on from start to finish, so we don&rsquo;t really rely on machines. Soft, dimmed lighting sets the mood; those overhead lights are basically retired. [chuckles] I want clients to feel calm and relaxed as soon as they snuggle up in the cosy blanket.&nbsp; Taking time for ourselves and loved ones often changes our relationship with self-care. Has your approach to it evolved ever since?
I&rsquo;ve learned to start the day with intention. If I&rsquo;m home with the kids, I try not to stress about work; when I&rsquo;m at work, I take it easy on my mom duties. I want to be fully present in both roles without expecting perfection, and I&rsquo;ve come to approach skincare and wellness the same way. Staying mindful of my energy flow, the hormonal changes that affect skin&rsquo;s balance, and brain fog that often hits during the luteal phase gives me a better sense of where I&rsquo;m at, so I can be more intentional and kinder with my everyday routines.&nbsp;

Do you feel this new perspective shaped how you&rsquo;ve put together Glo House&rsquo;s new facial treatments?
Yes! I&rsquo;ve simplified the menu quite a bit. Some treatments weren&rsquo;t really that helpful for my clients anymore, and I also wanted to reduce decision fatigue for both them and myself. Basically, our treatments come down to three things: smoothing texture with careful extraction, boosting circulation and oxygenation with facial massage, and keeping oil production balanced by strengthening the skin&rsquo;s lipid barrier.&nbsp; Do you see Glo House differently now &mdash; perhaps a sanctuary or an expression of you?
I love that you asked! Taking a little time away from Glo House and coming back made me realise just how much I appreciate helping people reconnect with their skin. Glo House has become a space where I get to show care in the simplest, most meaningful ways through touch, presence and connection. They say to glow is to grow. How do you feel you&rsquo;ve grown with Glo House?
You really do grow differently when things fall into alignment. I&rsquo;ve learned that leaving it to chance usually ends in disappointment, so now I do it with intention because I want to. If there&rsquo;s one thing I&rsquo;ve taken from all of this, it&rsquo;s that the hiccups along the way are really just opportunities to slow down and be present in the moment with more clarity. I hope my two girls see this in their mama &mdash;&nbsp; that strength can be gentle, and starting over can be beautiful.&nbsp;
