Named after Serbian performance artist Marina Abramović’s iconic ‘The Artist is Present’ in 2010 at the MoMA,  Gucci presents 'The Artist Is Present' at Yuz Museum.

Now open to the public until 16th December 2018, the exhibition explores a few ideas: 1. The conventional perception towards counterfeit and copying; 2. How originality can be reached through the act of repetition; and 3. How originals themselves can be preserved through copies.

Powered by Gucci and Alessandro Michele and curated by Maurizio Cattelan, the Italian artist who is known for his paradoxical works, more than thirty artists are featured in this exhibition.

Together with Chinese artists and talents across the globe, they built a space where originality, intention, expression, and authorship, are dismantled.

To honour the exhibition, Alessandro Michele, Maurizio Cattelan and President and CEO Marco Bizzarri had hosted an exclusive cocktail party at Yuz Museum, which included the performance by musicians Molly Lewis, Drew Erickson and indie-rock band Da Bang.

Music talents aside, the A-listed friends of Gucci were also there to celebrate.
