Novak Djokovic, world famous and well accomplished professional tennis player, has been in a successful partnership with Seiko since 2014. In fact, it is without a doubt that Novak has booked his spot in the annals of history as one of the greatest players in tennis history.
This, he has achieved, doubtlessly, through his amazing record of 16 Grand Slam victories and 34 ATP Tour Masters 1000 wins. Last year alone, Novak captured the Australian Open and Wimbledon as well as three other tournaments along with his first in Japan.
Seiko is proud to be able to celebrate Novak’s most noteworthy achievements with the launch of an all-new Astron GPS Solar watch, the SSH045. It is definitely justified that the watch comes imbued with Seiko’s leading GPS solar technology. And, as icing to the cake, the watch sports a design based around the shared colors of the flags of Serbia and Japan.
Red and white are colours found in both nations’ flags and these colours are employed with every opportunity alongside the colour of deep blue which is prominent in the Serbian flag and denotes ‘‘victory’’ in Japanese culture. On the watch, one will notice the white dial ring and the blue ceramic bezel with a thin red line on it. Further inspection of the watch brings us to the time zones of Serbia and Japan that are highlighted in red on the UTC indicator ring at the +1 and +9 positions respectively.
Last but not least, the brilliant gold of the hands and minute track on the dual-time sub-dial are present to highlight Novak’s massive achievements in tennis.
The watch sports the Seiko Astron GPS Solar Caliber 5X53 with Dual-Time that links up to the GPS network twice a day to sync to the precise time regardless of location anywhere in the world. Moreover, it also adjusts automatically to Daylight Saving Time.
Whenever the wearer travels between time zones, he just needs to depress a button for the watch to indicate the correct local time. Ultimately, the watch is a perfect companion for, not only Novak, but also all frequent travellers. The new Novak Djokovic Astron GPS Solar watch comes as a limited edition of just 1,500 packaged in a special box with an additional silicone strap.
Within its box is also a card with a message from Novak himself.
